I made myself a promise today that I'm going to start writing again daily. Take it for what it is. Now that I've moved half way across the world from the east coast things might be a little different than they were before, but it's better than nothing right? Of course it is.
I thought I'd start off easy and tell you what I've been reading lately and the books I'd suggest picking up.
An Inconvenient Book: Real Solutions to the World's Biggest Problems by Glenn Beck - This book contains chapters of many of the common problems that conservatives care deeply about countered with Glenn's "thinker" solutions. The book is not only common sense thought provoking, but a very funny read as well.
Invasion of the Party Snatchers by Victor Gold - If you are a Goldwater / Reagan conservative then you will surely enjoy Gold's scathing indictment of the GOP and how bowing to the neo-con and theocrat base got us where we are today. For the younger generation like myself, this is nothing short of an education.
Day of Reckoning: How Hubris, Ideology, and Greed Are Tearing America Apart by Patrick Buchanan - Buchanan once again pens an eye opening piece on the decline and likely end of Pax Americana. Pat gives his thoughts on what happened, where we are, and what we must do to protect our sovereign nation and its integrity.
Finding Jefferson: A Lost Letter, a Remarkable Discovery, and the First Amendment in an Age of Terrorism by Alan Dershowitz - Dershowitz's discovery of an original hand written letter gives us great insight to Thomas Jefferson and his thoughts upon what the term Free Speech really means.
The Nine: Inside the Secret World of the Supreme Court by Jeffrey Toobin - Toobin's research into this "behind-the-scenes" novel about the Supreme Court and its members is simply riveting reading. Toobin also points out that Conservatives are one nomination away from dramatically changing the history of the Court's rulings.
Let me know when you've finished those, I've got more. If you have suggestions, please leave them as well.
